Transmitting Data β
Once you've logged racer times, the next step is transmitting your data to race control. TRacer sends station-specific data over the radio using MT63, a digital mode sent as audio over radio.
π€ What Gets Sent β
When you transmit, the app sends:
The selected station number
A list of bib numbers, each with:
- Time In (if available)
- Time Out (if available)
- DNF status and reason (if applicable)
INFO
Your selected station determines what location the data is attributed to when it is sent to race control.
π Using the Send Tab β
- Navigate to the Send tab in the bottom navigation
- Youβll see a data table previewing all untransmitted records
- Tap the Transmit all changes button to send the current data
- Hold your phone near the radioβs microphone (not too close β 6β12 inches is usually ideal)
- The app will emit an audio signal (MT63 format) to send the data
Ensure the radio is keyed (PTT is active) before or as the transmission begins
Once transmitted, the record will appear in a History section just below. This list shows previously sent transmissions in collapsible entries.
Tapping a history entry reveals:
A 4-character hash (used to identify the transmission, derived from the selected station number and the time the transmission was first sent)
A list of blocks:
- Headers (includes the selected station number and the total transmission size)
- Data blocks (numbered: 1, 2, 3, etc.) which contain the actual transmitted racer data
π Re-sending Data β
If race control didnβt receive all of your transmission:
- Return to the Send tab
- In the History section, tap the relevant transmission to expand it
- Select the specific blocks race control requested (e.g., Headers, or data blocks 1, 2, etc.)
- Tap the speaker icon next to the transmission summary (e.g., β6 runners sent at...β) to retransmit the selected blocks
