Logging Racer Times ​

Once your station is set up, you're ready to begin logging racer times. TRacer is designed to make this fast, accurate, and easy to correct if needed.

Reminder:

⚠️ Make sure you've selected the correct station before entering times!

⏰ Adding a Time In or Time Out ​

You can log racer times from either the Input tab or the Records tab, depending on your preferred workflow and device.

🧭 Input Tab (Best for entering paper logs or live arrivals) ​

The Input tab is designed for quickly entering a series of bib numbers and times:

  1. Type a bib number and tap Next
  2. Enter Time In, tap Save Time In
  3. Enter Time Out, tap Save Time Out
  4. It's back to being ready for another bib number

Shortcuts & Settings: ​

  • Auto Time In / Auto Time Out buttons to log the current time instantly
  • Settings to skip Time In or Time Out input if only one is being logged
  • Option to use a dialpad-style keypad instead of standard 10-key layout

This flow works especially well when copying times from paper or handling racers as they arrive.

📋 Records Tab (Best for real-time tracking on larger screens) ​

The Records tab is built to help you review and update existing records, as well as a live, quick entry, as racers come and go:

  • Filter racers by In Station, Recently Seen, Still Expected... and more!
  • If a racer has no time logged, tap the ➕ button to quickly add the current time for In or Out
  • If a racer already has a time, tap the entry to edit it manually

TIP

On tablets, a split view allows you to shows expected racers on the left and racers in station on the right — making this tab ideal for live station operations.

🛠 Editing or Fixing Entries ​

You can edit racer times from either the Input tab or the Records tab:

✏️ Input Tab ​

  1. Type the bib number of the racer you want to edit
  2. Tap Next
  3. The previously entered Time In will be pre-filled and ready to adjust
  4. Tap Save Time In
  5. The previously entered Time Out will be pre-filled and ready to adjust
  6. Tap Save Time Out to complete editing and return to the bib entry step

This is especially handy for fixing records when entering a batch of data from paper.

  1. Find the racer in the list
  2. Tap the entry to adjust the Time In or Time Out manually
