Privacy Policy for TRacer ​

(Note: This policy formalizes practices that have been in effect since TRacer began.)

Introduction ​

TRacer ("we," "us," "our") operates the TrackMyRacer.live website and the TRacer app. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle user-uploaded data and any publicly accessible information.

Any data collected by the TRacer app is stored only on the device unless the user transmits, using the send feature, the data to another device which may include a device connected to the TrackMyRacer.live website.

Data Collection & Storage ​

We do not collect personal data directly from visitors.

Users may upload event data, which includes:

  • Event name
  • Event start and end date
  • Races that are part of an event
  • Checkpoint locations or stations where time in and time out will be recorded for participants
  • Each participant is associated with an event and may also be associated with a specific race within that event
  • Participant information
    • First and last name (not required)
    • Bib number (required)
    • Age range (if provided)
    • Gender (if provided)
    • "Home" location (if provided)
    • Team for the event (if provided)
    • Additional metadata in a note field (if provided)

Uploaded data is stored on our backend servers indefinitely unless deleted by the user.

When a user deletes data, it is marked for deletion and completely removed after 7 days.

Publicly Accessible Information ​

All collected event data is made public except for the following participant information:

  • "Home" location
  • Team for the event
  • Age range
  • Gender
  • Additional metadata in a note field

User Authentication & Data Control ​

  • Users cannot create accounts but are provided with a unique authentication secret (password) to access and manage their data.
  • Once authenticated, users can:
    • Upload new data
    • Modify existing data
    • Delete their uploaded data
  • The authentication system may be updated in the future.

Data Security ​

  • We take reasonable measures to protect stored data, but we cannot guarantee absolute security.
  • Users are responsible for safeguarding their authentication credentials.

Embedded Content & Third-Party Services ​

  • TRacer may include embedded content (e.g., YouTube videos) that could collect visitor data in accordance with the third party’s privacy policies.
  • We do not control third-party data collection and recommend reviewing their respective policies.

Changes to This Privacy Policy ​

  • We may update this policy as needed. The latest version will always be available on our website at https://trackmyracer.live.
